A tail. I’ve always wanted a tail. Years ago I told a friend, and he asked me why I’d want a long, pink, probably hairy appendage sticking out of my ass.
He didn’t get it. I wanted a *dinosaur* tail!
Well, well, well. Looks like even the devil gets his due: I have just been informed that the “Last X-mas” slideshow has been chosen for SlideShare ‘s spotlight section.
At the time of writing this, I do not know what criteria the site uses to select their spotlighted entries but I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth – just politely point out that I wished for an iPod 
Naturally, this unexpected attention is going to give me all kinds of Nigerian scam mail, and I do foresee some hassle explaining the tax people how this didn’t earn me any extra income in the current fiscal year.
For those who haven’t come here by way of SlideShare, here’s the short version: I can’t be bothered with any of the gallery solutions available for my blog platform and I think Flickr is a pain in the ass, so I’ve been looking for different other ways of displaying my comics and other work on this site.
Some days ago, then, I fell upon an application for LinkedIn that would display SlideShare presentations on my (sorely lacking) profile there. The nag was, of course, that I would have to sign up for SlideShare, but since web accounts are a dime a dozen this century, I didn’t think much of it.
However, upon registering I was slightly annoyed to find that, besides being ‘just’ a site for promoting PDFs and (ugh!) PowerPoint presentations, SlideShare appears to be another runner-up, Johnny-come-late web 2.0 community.
Since then I have uploaded a few recent comics to the site, and I have found that other than a single spam comment from the discreetly named user/webcrawler “wendy xl”, I have not been bothered by the community part.
On the other hand, I am still not convinced that Acrobat.com won’t serve me entirely as well, and keeping my cloud files in one place to boot.

Since I am notoriously late blogging, these news are hardly news anymore, but who’s keeping count? In September, I had a story published in Free Comics#50, celebrating a nice round issue number:
And in November, right on the heels of this year’s Copenhagen Bookfair, a tribute to Valhalla, Denmarks biggest comic series was published. I contributed a little thing that you can see below (if that damned SlideShare thing works):
In this month’s Free Comics, an old comic of mine finally sees print: A zombie story originally called “Land of the Dead” (before I was made aware of the movie), which was originally composed around a handful of Ozzy Osbourne lyrics. For this seasonal-themed publication I plotted in a lot of snow, and substituted that text with Wham’s “Last X-mas” – which also became the new title:
This will be my refuge (and yours) while my main site is caught in Limbo between two servers. Just as I am pushing the siteware on the regular Spider-Howl site, so will I be exploring this WordPressthingamajic to fit my purposes – expect things to change around here as I go along.
I won’t tire you with long welcomes or introductions; most of my info is up at the “old”, rather more comprehensive site. Do look in to see what’s been up ’til now, but check back here for news.
