Time machine

A few days ago I dug out my Entombed records in search of some good inking music. As always I was blown away by the crude power of their music, and their way of infusing new life into old favorites.

Especially their cover of Kiss’ God of Thunder socked me in the face with the simple riff and deliciously idiotic lyrics. I was never a Kiss fan, and always thought that somehow their music didn’t add up to the band’s image.

Gearing up for MoCCA

Work on Astoria singles progressing at a steady pace, even though I have dropped everything else to prepare singles in time for MoCCA Art Fest June 6th-7th.

Scaling down from 12″ to 7″ square pagesize freshens up the work, as does the tight schedule. It’s both exciting and counter-productive to work against the clock like this but I often find it a great way of getting stuff out.

Rants Daily no more

I went and turned off the daily posting of my Tweeting, and deleted the auto-generated posts. Although it serves as a sort of update, it felt like cheating.

Also, it’s sort of demoralizing to have it spelled out on the frontpage how little I actually blog ;)

If anybody was actually following the Rants Daily series, why don’t you go follow me on Twitter instead ya lazy bums?

Off the Walls

Here’s a couple of shots I took on the move.
One is a bull that I might use as an inspirational piece for Dry Spot or Ariadne (there’s a lot of cross referencing all across the book)

Grafitto Bull

The other just struck me as funny the way it forms a Venus from Willendorf-like figure in the formal language of emotica. I guess it’s a shape that fascinates across the millennia, which just fuels my pictorial fundamentalisms ;)
